The Lake Agassiz Water Authority (LAWA) Board of Directors is thanking one of its initial members who is retiring after 22 years of service. LaVonne Althoff has represented Southeast Water Users District (SEWUD) since the very first LAWA Board meeting in February 2004.
The following resolution of appreciation was adopted unanimously during the March 2026 LAWA Board meeting:
Resolution of Appreciation Recognizing LaVonne Althoff of Southeast Water Users District for Her Dedicated Years of Service
WHEREAS, the Lake Agassiz Water Authority (LAWA) has benefited from the dedication and leadership of individuals who have faithfully served to advance reliable, high-quality water supplies for communities across North Dakota; and
WHEREAS, LaVonne Altoff, representing the Southeast Water Users District, has served on the LAWA Board with distinction, bringing valuable perspective, thoughtful insight, and a strong commitment to regional collaboration; and
WHEREAS, throughout her tenure serving since the inception of LAWA, Ms. Althoff has demonstrated consistent support for the mission and goals of LAWA, contributing to sound decision-making and long-term planning efforts that strengthen regional water sustainability; and
WHEREAS, her service reflects a deep understanding of the importance of cooperative water development and responsible stewardship on behalf of the communities served by LAWA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lake Agassiz Water Authority duly assembled in Fargo, in the state of North Dakota, on March 27, 2026, hereby expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to LaVonne Althoff for her dedicated service, leadership, and contributions as a member of the LAWA Board; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that LAWA recognizes and thanks Ms. Althoff and the Southeast Water Users District for their continued commitment to advancing regional water solutions that benefit present and future generations.
Jeff Breker, SEWUD Board President, replaced LaVonne on the LAWA Board of Directors.
